Paralegal
Rachel is a paralegal who has worked in the legal field since 2021. She started her legal career working in the construction industry handling litigation, transactions, governmental regulation, and federal, state and local taxation cases. Prior to her legal career, Rachel worked at Kanawha County Metro 911 from 2014 – 2021. She started as a telecommunicator answering 911 calls and dispatching emergency services during which time she received numerous certifications and awards recognizing her skills. It was not long into her career as a telecommunicator before she was promoted to quality assurance quality integrity administrator. Her role as QA/QI administrator required her to evaluate all of the agencies telecommunicators and analyze their work to ensure they were complying with the agencies policies and procedures. It was during her work as QA/QI administrator that Rachel realized she had an underlying passion for the law which ultimately led to her career shift into the legal field.
Rachel is responsible for case evaluation, file management, client contact, drafting and filing of pleadings, document organization, and mediation and trial preparation. She currently assists each of the partners at Mani Ellis & Layne, PLLC with civil cases on behalf of injured individuals. Rachel prides herself on providing superior customer service and taking a personal interest in each of her clients.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time around the water, traveling, and with her family and friends. She is married and together they have a blended family consisting of three beautiful children. As a family, they enjoy actively researching and implementing changes for living a cleaner, healthier lifestyle.
